The Charter members of Post 9907 initially met in homes of the members, then in the garage of Gerald Page. The Post Charter was issued by the VFW National Headquarters, effective April 7, 1968. The ground on which the Post home stands today was purchased by the members in 1978.  Over the years the Post home has seen some dramatic changes after the initial building of the canteen, next came the area where the kitchen and the Auxiliary meet. The final addition to the Post Home is the back portion of the hall and the upstairs.

Over the years the Post has grown from the original 26 members to the 400 members it has today.

The Post has an Auxiliary, which was chartered in 1976. Another veteran's organization also calls our Post their home, American Legion Post 76 meets here monthly.

The community service projects have grown as the Post has grown. The Post Honor Guard provides military honors at funerals for Veterans.  Additionally, our Honor Guard leads the Annual Independence Day and Annual Christmas Light Parades for the City of Show Low, as well as performs flag ceremonies throughout the White Mountains.

The Post sponsors Scholarship programs at the Junior High School and Senior High School levels. Each year the Post provides a Thanksgiving Dinner for members and the community passing out food baskets to the needy during the Christmas season. Each November, close to Veterans Day, the Post along with Elks Lodge 2090, put on a Veterans’ Dinner to honor the veterans in the community.   Currently the Post is a collection point for sending packages to our troops in overseas. The programs mentioned are but a few of our many projects.

White Mountain Area Post 9907, Veterans of Foreign Wars, is located high in the beautiful White Mountain of Arizona, in the City of Show Low.  We enjoy four seasons, which means those who live in the Valley of the Sun come to enjoy the cool weather in the summer and in the winter the skiers arrive to enjoy the snow. Our canteen offers a place for our members and guests to relax and play pool or throw darts and during the summer season enjoy a good meal.

Our Post is home to four Past All American Department Commanders, and our Auxiliary is home to two Past Department Presidents of the Year. Post 9907 is the Department's 2023-2024 Community Service award Recipient. Post 9907 is also recipient of the 2026 "All-State" and "All-American" award which The VFW All-State Award is a department-level and National recognition program that honors Posts and Districts for outstanding membership growth, retention, leadership, and participation in VFW core programs.
